Fellow Coldstreamers Ladies & Gents.
I would like to thank all who attended The Great Glen Walk training weekend as it was good to see some old and new faces who will be taking part in Septembers challenge in Scotland.
This year’s event promises to be a tough but rewarding experience so good planning and preparation will be essential.
It was quite clear from Paul Darnell and Teds William’s homework that planning and preparation along with good logistical support will be essential in making this event run smoothly.
This will be a great opportunity for people to experience one of the UKs finest and most scenic routes with the knowledge that it will be in support of Coldstream Kids.
Having learn’t much from our experience of the Hadrian’s Wall Challenge in which we raised £23,000 pounds, it is hoped that we might go one better this time round.

The weekend took place in Epsom Surrey and began with a team briefing by Ted Williams which outlined some of the following:
· Team Transport – To & From Scotland & During the event.
· How to prepare physically
· Equipment & Supplies
· The Route / Terrain & miles to be covered each day
.· Logistical Support / Check Points & Food Replens
· Medical Support
· Accommodation at our Team base-
:-The loch Ness Lodge Hotel at Fort Augustas.
· Fundraising / Sponsorship & Gift Aid
· The importance of why are doing this and who it will help (Coldstream Kids)

We then took to the Epsom Hills for a training walk from Headley Heath to Box Hill before returning for a much deserved meal at the Surrey Palace Indian Restaurant which was much appreciated!
There was also much fun and banter as would be expected of which I’m sure will step up a gear once we are in the hills.
If 2007s Hadrian’s Wall Challenge is anything to go by with the daily exchanges between the 1st & 2nd Battalion boys then I’m sure we are in for some serious laughs!
Since the Coldstream Kids Charity was formed in 2006 I have been overwhelmed by the levels of interest and support it has received from the Coldstream fraternity.
As well as the civilian sector who have acknowledged why the formation of our charity was necessary and how it is now playing an important role in the support of Coldstream children.
It is through the hard work of many and the continued and loyal support of Coldstreamers both past and present which will help us deliver the levels of support currently being providing.
As this event fast approaches, I would like to ask all Coldstreamers to please give their support to the team by downloading one of our sponsorship forms in the hope of raising funds towards our target of £20, 000 + Please find a link to the downloadable sponsorship forms below.
Please don’t hesitate to contact the charity if you have any questions regarding this event or the Coldstream Kids.
I thank you for your continued support and hope we will spread the word of Coldstream Kids up into the Scottish highlands.

Kind Regards Franco Gasparotti
