Event at the O2 Arena Walking with
Dinosaurs On Thursday 7th August 2009 a
party of 18 consisting families of both serving and former Coldstreamers attended
the 02 Arena in Greenwich at the invitation of CE Property Services to see the
highly acclaimed Walking With Dinosaurs. Due to the imminent deployment of
the Regiment to Afghanistan, we decided that the places would be shared with those
children of serving members
most in need. We
left that choice to the Families Office who have very close working relationship
with all the families. The Charity had been sponsored for this event by the
above CE Properties as a children’s charity they
would like to support and we were certainly given the VIP treatment through the
use of their Corporate Hospitality Suite. On being met by our hosts, Marketing
Manager Miss Alex Gibbons and Bid Manager, Miss Lyndsey Browne, we were escorted
to our hospitality room where we would have superb viewing seats and be served
with excellent food and drinks. I
have to say that the families had a wonderful time and enjoyed what was a fantastic
educational show packed
with interest and fun, which also gave the children and their parents some
quality time in the company of friends during the school holiday period. CE
Property Services have also offered the charity further opportunities for future
shows. With the next, 'Disney On Ice For Princesses' in October this year,
of which I will provide further news at a later date. I would like to take
this opportunity in thanking CE Property Services for their wonderful gesture
to our charity as I’m sure everyone who attended will agree that we were well
