Introduction
The Coldstream Kids Charity was formed in 2006 following the deaths of Guardsman Anthony Wakefield and Sgt Christian Hickey of the
1st Battalion Coldstream Guards who were tragically killed whilst serving in Iraq during the Battalion’s operational tour in 2005.
Following these tragic events, a fundraising campaign was initiated in support of Guardsman Anthony Wakefield's three children
who were left devastated by the loss of their father. Over £6,000 was raised through the support of many former and serving members
of the Coldstream Guards and other generous donors.
Following the fundraising campaign, and taking into consideration the unsettled world situation,
The Coldstream Kids Charity was formed with two objectives: to serve as a fitting tribute to both men and to
support children of former and serving Coldstream Guardsmen who become the victims of misfortune or unforeseen circumstances.
Objects Of The Coldstream Kids Charity
a) To support children under the age of 16 years of age of both former and serving members of the Coldstream Guards who may become the victims of misfortune or unforeseen circumstances.
b) To work closely with the following organisations to provide swift and effective support to those in need. Regimental Headquarters Coldstream Guards Regimental Welfare 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards Coldstream Guards Regimental Association Branches Royal British Legion SAAFA Army Benevolent Fund Other Charitable Organisations
c) To work alongside the Regimental Charity
d) To be an independent voice. 		 
Support Procedures  
 
a) To support children under the age of 16 years of age of both former and serving members of the Coldstream Guards who may become the victims of misfortune or unforeseen circumstances.
b) To work closely with the following organisations to provide swift and effective support to those in need.
